Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday constituted a high-powered committee to address the issues that arose following violent protests by factory workers in Noida. Formed under the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this committee will function under the chairmanship of the Industrial Development Commissioner. It comprises senior officials from the MSME and Labor Departments, as well as representatives from labor unions and industrial organizations.

According to news agency reports, the committee's primary objective is to restore peace in Noida and to resolve, through dialogue, the ongoing dispute regarding demands for wage hikes. Meanwhile, officials have also made it clear that anarchy will not be tolerated in the state and that any potential political conspiracy will be thoroughly investigated.

As per the government order, this committee will begin working with immediate effect to resolve industrial unrest in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Members of the committee have already arrived in Noida to initiate a dialogue with workers and industry representatives.

The panel includes members from five labor unions and representatives from three industrial bodies. Their goal is to foster coordination among all stakeholders and ensure the smooth functioning of industrial activities.

What warning did Yogi government issue?

The Yogi government has made it unequivocally clear that a rigorous investigation will be conducted against elements with "vested interests"—as well as those with political motives—who attempt to disrupt the industrial environment. Officials stated that there is no place for anarchy in Uttar Pradesh. The government remains committed to finding appropriate solutions to the workers' grievances; however, there will be no compromise on law and order. The committee has been directed to submit its recommendations on a priority basis.

What Are Efforts to Restore Normalcy?

Following incidents of arson, vandalism, and stone-pelting in various parts of Noida, the administration is now actively engaged in restoring normalcy to the situation. The government has reiterated that efforts are underway to address the workers' concerns through dialogue. Coordination is being established with all stakeholders to ensure that industrial development continues without any hindrance. The government's primary focus at this juncture is on finding a peaceful resolution while simultaneously maintaining law and order.
